The primary objective of the schemes is to provide universal social security system for all Indians ensuring that no Indian citizen will have to worry about illness, accidents or penury in old age.

Attending the launch here on Saturday evening, Chief Minister Ibobi Singh said, “Accidental deaths are on the rise in India, which is a cause of major concern, as the untimely death of bread earners in most of the low and middle class families’ leads to financial crunch in the families. The associated medical treatment costs also add to the burden of the family members. It is nearly impossible for poor people with one earning member to buy such insurance due to high premium.”

The Chief Minister appealed to all eligible people to utilise this opportunity and get enrolled in the schemes.
