Airtel always strives to improve the competence of its retailers, by providing them with additional knowledge through interactions, trainings and also by giving them exposure and constantly encouraging, motivating and honouring them through rewards.
In keeping with this tradition, Airtel had organised the ‘Navratna Awards’, a platform where they acknowledged their retailers’ contribution on a pan India basis. Along with a phase wise programme involving the whole country, this award function was also held in Guwahati at Hotel Dynasty on February 14, 2009.
Airtel’s top officials including Sanjiv Mishra, General Manager Sales and Marketing, were among the dignitaries present on the occasion to honour, felicitate and encourage the best performing retailers for both the categories of Gold and Silver winners.
The Retailers awarded in the Gold category with a 10gm Gold coin each were: Jitumoni Baishya from Guwahati, Assam; Abdul Manan from Silchar, Assam; M/s V. Lalchhanhimi & Laldinpuia from Lunglei, Mizoram and Sena Jaishi from Aizawl, Mizoram; Bipob Thangkhiew from Meghalaya and Ayub Khan from Imphal.
The Retailers awarded in the Silver category with a 5gm Gold coin each were: Vivek Jaiswal, B. Appa Rao, Arun Saikia & Bittu Saha from Guwahati, Assam; and Lakshmi Narayan Singh from Amsning Jorabat.
Expressing joy after receiving the award V. Lalchhanhimi, the only lady entrepreneur from Aizawl, and one amongst the five Gold category award winners, said, “I really feel very proud to be associated with Airtel, a company that has very high customer satisfaction levels and the best network in Mizoram.
After having taken up the Airtel Retailership in 2008 I have gained a lot and this recognition has really given me the impetus to strive for even higher targets.”
Another proud winner Biplob Thangkhiew from Shillong expressed his satisfaction in these words, “I really feel very privileged at being able to serve people with connectivity that is affordable and instant, in spite of being located in one corner of the country.”
Commenting on the programme, Sudipto Chowdhury, Chief Operating Officer, Bharti Airtel NESA, said, “We want our customer experience with Airtel to be a pleasant and enriching one.
We also want our retailers to excel in business and customer service. I congratulate the award winners and also encourage others to give their best efforts and be the winners in the coming years.”
Sanjiv Mishra, General Manager, Sales and Marketing Bharti Airtel NESA while addressing the award winning dealers of the Company said, “Airtels’ progress in the region is the direct result of the hard work put in by the dealers. The Company is grateful to them and will do everything to encourage excellence in business.”
It may be mentioned here that the Airtel Navratna Award ceremonies were organsised in eighteen cities across sixteen regions covering more than 5875 retailers in the country.
